Let's Make A Difference

Welcome
We hope that you'll find this project interesting. We aim to help children really Make A Difference as they work through this project.

About the Project
This project combines Environmental Education with Technology Education in an on-line community that obviously utilises ICTs to enhance the learning.

The Learning
Normally 4 classes take part simultaneously: working on their own project within their own community. Each class will, hopefully, come to understand both the ways in which ‘needs and opportunities' can be specific to particular communities as well as how concerns about sustainability and conservation can vary according to particular conditions in specific places. While the learning is locally focussed on their own community, and while it is specific to the individual learners, there are some underlying ‘big ideas' that children will engage with within the project.
The project has real-world objectives and outcomes so that the learning is authentic and children get a sense of undertaking actual research and production. The on-line communication is designed to foster greater understanding of the child's own environment and of other cultures and experience that informs and is informed by it.

The Teacher's responsibilities
While there are important responsibilities for the teacher in terms of committing to timetables and encouraging their students to meet deadlines, there are no ‘big hurdles',
